How LimeTreeFruits branding came up that way 🙂

Hey lovely!

Last week I was featured on Reader Under the Spotlight at Philofaxy.

One of the comments from that post made me think about how important and much more meaningful it is when we understand people’s stories and we get to see how things came up for them.

So to bring it full circle it’s time to talk about the diamonds pattern of LimeTreeFruits background.

Time for some fun behind-the-scenes of how it came about.

Here we go:

Back in the days, I took an art class in college.

One of the assignments was to come up with a set of cards.
Not the whole 54 cards, just the design of each suite.

Now, let’s look at them:

Each suite’s design:

Now take a closer look at the diamond pattern:

Recognize it? 😃

I really love those cards.

College was such an overwhelming time for me {isn’t it always?} and when I found those cards I could not believe how pretty I managed to create them in such tough times. I kept thinking “did I really do that myself? Right in the middle of those crazy-messy years? Wow!”
And I hug myself with a pet on the back! 😄💖

So…. then I scanned the card and on Photoshop deleted, the number and mirrored the decorated corner.

And it became LimeTreeFruits’ staple!

Here is the timeline of the diamond background’s transformation – together with LTF transformation, of course 😉

All dates are “…ish” meaning it’s a one or half year, give it or take it:

Dec. 2011

The very first banner I created for the site, back when I was using Blogspot:

Mid-2012

Moved to WordPress and got fancy adding a tagline! 😀

Early-2013

Gave in to blues 😍
This one design stayed for a looooong time!

2018

Went wild here, moved the header to the sidebar and finally YELLOW was added! Don’t know what took me so long. 😀

And that’s it! {for now 😉 }

Hope you enjoyed this ‘lil behind-the-scenes of LimeTreeFruits branding 🌸

Many Smooches,
