🌱✨The year just started! A whole country says so.

Happy Saturday, sunshine!

This morning I was thinking about perspectives and how the way we look at things really shape up how we feel about them and our actions.

Don’t believe me?
✨I got a juicy relatable example.

👉🏼 A couple days ago I sent you an email with my newest creation – a FREEBIE workbook to help you recalibrate and reshape your year… just in case you are feeling behind and off track already.

Now, what is really interesting is that…

There are some people, an entire country even, that considers NOW - almost March - the start of the year.

I’m not talking about cultures with different calendar year. Nope. I’m talking about a country where Jan 1st is their officially NY too.

Yet, no one over there is dropping a sweat thinking about time “lost” in the almost 2 months of the year gone.

👉🏼 The people and country I am talking about?

Brazilians and Brazil! 🙋🏻‍♀️🇧🇷

There’s a saying down there that l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y justifies not feeling stressed about perceived unproductivity early in the year.

💬 It says: “o ano só começa depois do Carnaval

Translation: “the year just starts after Carnival

Yup, and Carnival *just* wrapped up last Tuesday over there and now? People are recovering and… getting ready to really start the year!

And I mean it when I say the country really doesn’t start before then.👇🏼

👧🏻 As a kid, I remember always getting away with missed classes in February because “well, the year hadn’t really started yet”. {Plus, it is summer over there, so kids are just getting back from the long summer break and are starting new school levels. The “back to school” prep period coincides with a fresh new year – January!✨}

⁉️ And as adults, do lots of Brazilians hate this slow start and just want to get on with life already? yes!

⁉️ Yet some other ones, just LOVE it even more and can’t get enough of the party mode? also yes! 😄

🙋🏻‍♀️ Me? I’ve navigated between both throughout the years. The older I get, the more I feel we really need that break and to start the year slowly. {Lots of people don’t party on Carnival and just use it as an extended Holiday to chill and recharge. 💆🏻‍♀️🍃} But as a young adult I used to be FUMING at how nothing could truly be accomplished between Christmas and Carnival.

Anywho…

Why am I telling you all that stuff?

Because love…. it’s always and forever the perception and the lenses we are choosing to look at things.

👉🏼 Do we want to beat ourselves up thinking that we already "screw everything up"? We can. And watch the actions that'll come from that thinking process. Because there WILL be actions. And they will reflect where our mind is set.

👉🏼 Do we want to feel chill and assume the perfect time to start the year is now? We can. And watch the actions that'll come from that thinking process. Because there WILL be actions. And they will reflect where our mind is set.

So peaches… truly — if an entire country can, year-after-year, officially choose to start “real life” after 2 months have already passed and still be on track of things…

Welp, so can you. And guilt-free!

Release yourself from any ickiness about how things have been going so far and RESHAPE it, right now.

Which brings me to…. didja SEE my latest creation which is meant to exactly help you with that? 🤩
